Taking the Next Steps in Their Life Journey in the Arts
As a national arts service organization, TAEA builds bridges from school programs to professional practice. The Theatrical Arts Pathway Portal brings admissions information, unified auditions/portfolio submissions, and mentoring resources into one place—linking students, teachers, teaching artists, and post-secondary partners.
What the Portal provides
Unified submission to 30+ theatre and film programs (Canada & North America)
Artist-led prep: audition tips, portfolio checklists, and rehearsal tools from working actors, directors, designers, and dramaturgs
Program discovery: compare training paths (performance, design/tech, writing, directing/producing)
Advising & access: info on scholarships, entrance awards, and equity-informed supports
Eligibility & dates
Open to: Grade 11–12 students, gap-year applicants, and CEGEP (Grade 13) completers in Quebec
Annual window: November 5 – January 31
How it fits your journey
Many students enter the portal after participating in STAR Festivals or STAR Guild recognition. Wherever you start, the goal is the same: artist-guided next steps that move you toward post-secondary study, apprenticeships, or early professional opportunities.
