TAEA STAR Showcase of Emerging Artists is a national initiative connecting graduating and emerging post-secondary theatre artists with Canada’s professional performing arts industry. Participating colleges, universities and conservatories are invited to showcase selected emerging performers, technicians, designers, directors and writers through a national online platform designed to increase visibility and create connections with casting professionals, agents, artistic leaders, directors, producers, designers, production professionals and other industry partners. The program is intended to help bridge the transition from post-secondary theatre training into professional practice while celebrating the next generation of Canadian theatre artists both onstage, on screen, backstage and in creative leadership roles.

How the showcase works
Who participates
Canadian post-secondary theatre and performing arts institutions nominate or put forward graduating and emerging artists.
Showcase format
A STAR Showcase portal where participating institutions can feature selected students and make their work and materials visible to industry.
Institutional participation
Participation is free for Canadian post-secondary institutions.
Creating meaningful industry connections
The showcase is designed to connect emerging artists with agents, casting professionals, artistic leaders, producers, directors, unions and other industry contacts across Canada.

Selected students
Each student selected for the TAEA STAR Showcase pays a $20 individual participation fee.
